A Modular Seat System for Urban and Regional Rail

Together with Monte Meão, N+P developed Atlantic as a new generation of lightweight rail seating for urban and regional mobility. The concept is built around one coherent design architecture — translating a shared visual identity into Atlantic U for high-capacity urban transport and Atlantic R for longer regional journeys.

 

Lightness Meets Adaptability

 

A slim silhouette and reduced back shell give Atlantic its distinctive sense of visual and structural lightness. By minimizing material where possible and using the remaining rear surface as an integration zone for tables, storage and accessories, the design combines efficiency with flexibility. Its modular architecture allows different configurations and equipment levels while maintaining a recognizable family identity.

 

One Platform, Many Journeys

 

Atlantic U and Atlantic R share the same design DNA while responding to very different passenger needs. The urban variant focuses on lightweight efficiency for high-capacity environments, while the regional version adds comfort and functionality for longer journeys. Shared principles and components connect both into one versatile seating platform designed for a broad range of rail interiors.
