Project Brief

Monte Meão is an established supplier of railway seating solutions with the ambition to create a new lightweight seating family for metro, tram and regional applications. N+P developed the design language and product architecture for the new platform vision, translating a shared design DNA into two distinct seating solutions tailored to different mobility contexts. From concept development through detailed 3D design, we supported Monte Meão in bringing the new seating family to life for its debut at InnoTrans 2026.

One Platform, Many Journeys

Atlantic U and Atlantic R share the same design DNA while responding to different stakeholder needs. The urban variant focuses on lightweight efficiency for high-capacity environments, while the regional version adds comfort and functionality for longer journeys. Shared principles and components connect both into one versatile seating platform designed for a broad range of rail interiors.

Lightness Meets Adaptability

A slim silhouette and simplified back shell give Atlantic its distinctive sense of visual and structural lightness. By minimizing material where possible and using the back shell to integrate tables, storage and accessories, the design combines efficiency with flexibility. Its modular architecture allows different configurations and equipment levels while maintaining a recognizable family identity.
